Rans S-10 Sakota

The S-10 Sakota was introduced back in 1988. It is a mid-wing side by side seating two place tractor, in a taildragger configuration. It has dual stick and rudder control

Empty Weight: 460 lbs.
Gross Weight: 960  lbs.
Wing Span: 24  ft.
Wing Area: 95  sq. ft.
Engine: 582  Rotax
Cruise Speed: 110  m.p.h.
Stall Speed: 40  m.p.h.
VNE: 130  m.p.h.
Construction: Chromoly steel, aluminum, Stits

with left hand throttles.

The fuselage is welded steel tubing, while the wings are aluminum tube and ladder construction using aluminum ribs. The craft is covered in conventional aircraft covering materials.

Building times are in the 500 to 600 hour range. It was designed to supply pilots with a strong, responsive, affordable, eye opening aerobatic plane.

The factory rates an A+ for customer service and quality of kit.

A T.U.F. VIEW

The S-10 Sakota can be powered by the 582 Rotax or 912. With either its performance is outstanding. Climb rate at gross 850 feet per minute, cruise 100 m.p.h., stall with the use of flaperons 40 m.p.h..

Roll rates of 180 degrees per second. Pilot visibility through the large canopy is great, everywhere but down. Pilot comfort is a little tight. With hardly any prop clearance you have to land and take-off with the tail on the ground.

Suspension is STIFF. If your after a HOT ROD this is it, but don't expect a Cadillac ride.
