The Firestar 11 introduced in 1993
is a rather unique little design. It can be either a single place or a two
place, (tandem two place) but it only has one set of controls and they are
available to the front pilot.
It features front and back seating with standard stick and rudder
controls.

The airframe is welded 4130 chromoly,
connected to a boom tube which runs to the tail assembly. The wings use a
large aluminum tube for a main spar, aluminum ribs, covered in
conventional aircraft covering materials.
The aircraft utilizes a pusher
engine, in a tail dragger configuration. The pilot is shielded from wind
and bugs by front cowl and windshield.
The wings are foldable
for trailering and storage. Building times are reported in the 400 to 600 range.

A T.U.F. VIEW
The Firestar 11 is
quite a little performer. Home sick angel would better describe its climb
rate even when powered by a Rotax 447. Cabin width is 24 inches.
Cruise speed is 60/65
m.p.h. while stall is 35. According to the factory the craft has been
tested to +4 and -2 G's.
While the Firestar 11 was only introduced in
2000, its basic design has been available since 1995.
There is a great
deal of builder input needed to finish one of these kits and the finished
craft reflects it.
