Fisher Flying Products Horizon 2

Fisher Horizon 2

The Horizon 2 which was first introduced in 1990, and features wood construction, covered in standard aircraft covering materials.

Empty Weight: 495 lbs.
Gross Weight: 1050 lbs.
Wing Span: 26 ft.
Wing Area: 114 sq. ft.
Engine: Rotax 582
Cruise Speed: 95 m.p.h.
Stall Speed: 35/38 m.p.h.
VNE: 120 m.p.h.
Construction: Wood/Conventional Fabric

The plane is a tail dragger, tandem seating in a tractor configuration. Building times for kit construction is about 600 hours. No special tools or knowledge is required. 

Kit construction is described as " lot like putting a wood model aeroplane kit together." Quick build kits are also available which will save you 125/150 hours on construction. 

The craft can be built in a single car garage. The Horizon 11 was designed to handle engines ranging from 65 to 125 HP. Another nifty feature is that the Horizon has a folding wing.

A T.U.F. VIEW
The Horizon 11 uses standard stick and rudder control, with center mounted sticks. A small windscreen helps keep the bugs out of your teeth. Cruise depending on engine power ranges from 75 to 100 m.p.h., stall is a very comfortable 40.

An experienced pilot should be able to get the plane airborne in about 350 feet. Climb rate at gross is around 900 feet per minute.
