A T.U.F. VIEW
The Mark 111 is one
of the few two place ultralights that can be flown on a 503 Rotax engine
and still have a have decent climb rate, although my preference would
still be to go with the 582 Rotax.
Climb rate with the 503 is using flaps
is 500 feet per minute with a cruise at 6,000 RPM of 60 m.p.h.. When using
the 582 climb increases to 900 feet per minute and cruise 65/70. Stall
speed with flaps 30 m.p.h.. Controls are center mounted stick and rudder.
Visibility is great, cabin noise, although ear protection is necessary.
Control pressure is light especially when you consider the size of the
flaps and ailerons.
The negatives are that the plane does take quite a
while to build, requiring a lot of "finish" by the builder, it
is not the fastest craft on the market, and it tends to fly one wing low
with only one person on board.
