Sea-Bow powered parachute from Sea-Bow International Inc.
|
|
This craft is unique as far as powered parachutes are concerned becausee it is DIFFERENT. While
the Seabow still uses a parachute for lift its landing gear is not the same as that
used by the rest of the industry.
The Seabow airframe uses T-6 6061(aircraft grade) aluminum with all steel components already welded together at the factory.
|
|
The pilot sits
in a padded fiberglass seat, with a little cockpit enclosure around him. While the
airframe consists of two rear wheels and a steerable nose wheel the SeaBow
also has 4 "Spiro wheels" attached to both sides front and
back.
These are very large and sit at an angle to the main airframe. Their purpose is to
allow the pilot and craft to land and take off safely in crosswind. Another safety factor
of the wheels is that in the event of an emergency landing over water these four wheels
allow the craft to stay afloat.
