Kolb Firestar, some interesting designs and modifications.
|
|
Apparently the owner William Hinkelmann had a little bit of an
accident, in his two place Kolb.
In the process of repairing the craft he used some foam
insulation.
When he found it hard to sand down and make smooth he decided to
transform his Kolb into "The Frog." |
|
The FROG -Yes it does fly and is able to take off and land from land or water - a true amphibian.
Another advantage is that the two "eyes," which are really chrome headlights act
as mirrors for the pilot when flying. |
Right next to the frog were several other Kolb Firestars, one
was painted up to look like a butterfly, while the other design resembled a birds
wing and tail feathers in flight.
