Paramoteur powered paraglider, Eric Dufour's two place powered paraglider.

Back in the late 70's when ultralights first came on to the scene many people came into
the sport because it was back to basic, grass roots, bugs in your teeth type of flying.
Well it appears that after 20 years were back to basic again - but in a different way -
powered - para-gliders. A problem we faced back in 1978 was how to train
our ultralight pilots - since at that time no two place ultralights were available.

|
This problem now also faces the powered para-glider
instructors.
Eric Dufour who runs a powered para-gliding school out of Quebec has come
up with a solution - a twin engine power pack. While the unit is a hefty 68 pounds - which
is 68 lbs you have to carry around on your back it none the less gives enough extra power
to launch not one but two people into the air.
It also makes for great performance when flying solo at airshows - as Eric demonstrated
at this years Sun N Fun.
