The PARA-SKI, is what can be described as an all terrain
vehicle. How's that? Well the craft can be used - on wheels, skis, floats,
and flying.
It comes in two models the single seat VX model which can be powered by the
503 or 582 Rotax and the two place unit which is powered by the 582/618 Rotax engines. |
|
The single place is capable of taking up to 460 lbs of pilot and cargo while the two
place can lift a hefty 480 lbs. Climb rates come in at between 800 and 1200 feet per
minute depending on the engine and chute option. Both craft feature a welded aircraft grade
aluminum tube airframe.
The PARA-SKI has four wheels/skis, which gives it
great ground handling qualities, on land, snow or ice. Can it land and take off with
floats - yes and no. Apparently the craft can taxi along under power keeping the
chute inflated just like it does on land.
In taking to the factory rep he indicated that the PARA-SKI has a unique chute
mounting arrangement which stabilizes it in the air. It uses a six point canopy suspension
system. This system apparently eliminates the pendulum effect experienced in powered chutes
when you accelerate or decelerate - and gives better control when landing in cross winds.
According the factory reps the Para-Ski can also be flown as a trike ( if you can still
call it that when it has 4 wheels), the hang glider wing can be folded down to a 12 foot
length.
