Single place Part 103 ultralights in the United States are defined as single
place ultralight aircraft that weigh 254 lbs or less, have a stall speed
not more than 24 knots, a top
speed of 55 knots, and carry no more than 5 gallons of fuel. To fly a
legal Part 103
ultralight aircraft in the United States the pilot does not require a
pilot license.
Single place aircraft weighing more than 254 lbs. in the U.S. require a
pilots license and must be built as experimental, amateur built,
homebuilt aircraft. These include weight shift aircraft, more commonly
known as trikes, powered parachutes, and powered para-gliders.
Single place ultralights in Canada can weigh up to 1200 lbs. and an
ultralight pilots license is required to fly them. |

The Dream classic was introduced in 1996. Some of the standard features include
detachable wing panels, steerable tail wheel, fuel tank.
The dream classic ultralight is a full three
axis aircraft with a side mount stick & is covered with the certified
poly fiber process. This kit comes with all machining & required
welding pre-done.
Two different wings are available, a standard wing of 30.5 ft (9.3 m)
span and 122 sq ft (11.35 sq m) area and a speed wing of 21.5 ft (6.6 m)
span and 86 sq ft (8.00 sq m) area.
The speed wing restricts the aircraft's useful load to 170 lb (77 kg),
while the standard wing allows 250 lb (113 kg).

The standard engine is the
40 hp (30 kW) Rotax 447, although engines of 28 to 52 hp (21
to 39 kW) can be used. The kit is available in both
strut braced or a wire brace version Options include the engine mount, a larger fuel
tank spun aluminums cowling and wheel covers, various assembly options.
Construction time is normally around 100/120 man hours.
