"The natural function of the wing is to soar upwards and carry that which
is heavy up to the place where dwells the race of gods. More than any
other thing that pertains to the body it partakes of the nature of the
divine." - Plato |

Verner motor has new distributor:
|
Earlier this year the U.S. distributor for the Verner line of
aircraft engines was killed
in a trike accident, recently his wife has made arrangements for Steve Flynn of Central
Florida Flyers to take over sales of the engines in the U.S.
For those not familiar with the engine it is a two cylinder, horizontally opposed air
cooled engine putting out 80 hp.
It weighs the same as a 912 but is less complicated with
fewer moving parts and is that it is shorter in length.
The reduction drive is available in two ratios. The engine comes standard with electric
start, dual ignition and a charging system and a six months warranty. The engine has been
available for about 7 years with just over 150 engines flying, currently the highest
houred engine had 580 hours on it at the time of the show.
The recommended TBO is 1,000
hours. The engine uses a dry sump system, with altitude compensating carbs.
The engine on display at the show was set up with a tow system for towing up hang gliders.
