The Griffin and Skyboy
from Interplane U.S.A Once bitten by the ultralight bug it is very hard to shake. Bill ![]() He has now found a new love - this time from the Czech republic. Bill was at Sun N Fun with two new, at least new to the U.S. ultralight designs, as well as several more conventional style of aircraft. The Griffin which is a single place ultralight and Skyboy which is a two place ultralight trainer are being built in the Czech republic and then shipped into the U.S. They are being produced and built to a certified standard in Europe. This quality control was quite evident in the finish of the two units on display. Both craft can also be supplied as experimental aircraft kits for pilots wanting to fly the planes with their conventional license. According to Bill the single place Griffin built from kit should take 200 hours, with the Skyboy taking about ![]() The Griffin when powered by a 503, will take about 200 feet to get into the air, climb out at around 900 feet per minute and cruise around along at 80 mph. The Skyboy meets the requirements for a two place ultralight trainer.
