The ULM Jet Fox 97 was a little late arriving at the show,
showing up mid week. The plane is being imported and distributed by Aero
Pereyra Inc. of Rockledge Florida, who have been producing the Aventura
and Toucan line of aircraft for a number of years now.
Aero Pereyra is expanding to include sales and distribution of the Jet
Fox 97, Sky Ranger, and Sabre trikes. The Jet Fox was originally
introduced in 1995 and was based on the Jet Fox 91, which was sold built
and sold from 1991 to 1995, with some 140 aircraft delivered to customers. "The
structure uses steel, aeronautical light alloys, and composite
materials," "the landing gear consists of glass, carbon fibre,
and resin, which is light weight, and sturdy allowing from operation for
rough fields" "while the wing uses an aluminum structure covered
in "trilam which is light weight and long lasting." The Jet
Fox can be powered by the 582 Rotax engine or the 912 series of engines.
The engine is mounted in a tractor configuration, with the cowled engine
located in front of and above the wing. The control system is standard
stick and rudder with dual controls, with side by side
seating. The windshield and windows are more from a "thermomaterial
called perspex" - the pilot has a clear "270 degree view from
the cockpit." The craft can be towed on it wheels, and the wings are
foldable, and the tail sections removable. The Jet Fox 97 has a wing
span of 32 feet, and 157 square feet of wing area. It comes with a 15.58
U.S. gallon fuel tank, and has been tested to +6 and -3.5 g's. It
has an empty weight of 628 lbs and a gross of 992 lbs. Top speed is 108
mph with cruise coming in at 87 mph. Stall is 40 and climb 900 feet per
minute. |
